Why physicians fail to recognize natural / Herbal remedies have a significant role in health?

It seems to me that they may have an interest to protect their own jobs. I found many alternatives that have proven useful for thousands of people, but the medical profession is havent heard or to give them the thumbs down. Arent we supposed that the health of their patients above all in their minds?
